Are you planning a camping vacation in Italy? Then you should definitely keep reading: In this blog post, I want to share our vacation on the Adriatic at the Cesenatico Camping Village. Sun, beach, culture, and plenty of family time. That's how we can briefly summarize our family vacation. You will find out which campsite we were at and whether we can recommend it in this post. In the next blog post, you will find all the information about family-friendly excursions in Cesenatico and the surrounding area.
Why We Chose Cesenatico Camping Village
During the Pentecost holidays, we were once again drawn to Italy. We spent ten wonderful days at the Cesenatico Camping Village on the Italian Adriatic (here’s the link to the campsite's website). So far, we have only experienced Italy as a family during one of our many family vacations at Lake Garda, but this time we headed further towards the sea. We personally find the period from late May to early June to be ideal for a family vacation in Italy because the weather is already warm enough for swimming, but it is not too hot or crowded yet. At Cesenatico Camping Village, you will find the perfect combination of nature, comfort, activities, and relaxation. Especially for families with children, this site offers everything the heart desires. That’s why I want to share our experiences and give you a few tips.

Our Accommodation: Mobile Home "Venere"
We love vacationing in a mobile home because we don’t have to give up any comfort while still enjoying that relaxed camping vibe as a family. There are many offerings for families, there’s no dress code, and the kids spend a lot of time outside, can be a bit loud, and quickly find their way around the campsite as they grow older. The Cesenatico Camping Village is nestled idyllically between pine forests and the sea, has many recreational activities for children, and is a great starting point for excursions in the area.

We stayed in the spacious “Venere” mobile home, which features two bedrooms, two bathrooms (very practical), and a lovely covered terrace where we often played games in the evenings and relaxed at the end of the day. I uploaded a video of the “Venere” mobile home on my Instagram account for you. The location was ideal for us: close to the large playground, just a few minutes' walk to the pool, and also near the arena, where children’s disco and entertainment took place in the evenings.

With 34 square meters of living space, the Venere mobile home accommodates up to five people. Pets are also welcome, so you can bring your dog along. A TV, air conditioning, and a fully equipped kitchenette are also available. The price includes towels, bed linen, as well as initial and final cleaning. I just wish there had been a dishwasher.

I think the “Venere” mobile home is the nicest mobile home we have vacationed in so far. The layout is truly ideal, and everything is modern and bright. There’s also air conditioning and a television. The two bathrooms are definitely a luxury, especially when you want to shower in peace after a day at the beach or pool.
Different Types of Accommodation at Cesenatico Camping Village
Bungalows at Cesenatico Camping Village
Even though we enjoy “glamping” in a mobile home, I know that there are different preferences. Luckily, in addition to mobile homes, Cesenatico Camping Village also offers other accommodations. You have the option to stay in wooden bungalows and “housing tents,” which are fully equipped tents with beds, bathrooms, and kitchenettes.

Sanitary Facilities at Cesenatico Camping Village
Traveling with a Caravan or Motorhome: If you arrive with your own caravan or motorhome, there are also good, well-maintained pitches available. Many of them are shaded. I didn’t test the washrooms, but all the ones I looked at were clean.
Dining at the Restaurant & Beach Bar
We highly recommend the restaurant at the campsite. The pizza was excellent, and I had it almost every evening. Our daughter had spaghetti daily, and for breakfast, we treated ourselves to fresh croissants and cappuccino. For us as vegetarians, the selection was absolutely sufficient, and special requests were accommodated.

A special highlight of our vacation was the dinner at the beach bar “Bagno Villa Celeste” right on the beach section of the campsite. The atmosphere there is fantastic, and the sunset is included. Highly recommended!

The Beach: Ideal for Families with Children
For me, it was my first vacation on the Italian Adriatic. The beach is located directly behind the campsite and is easily accessible on foot. We had to exit the grounds through a turnstile that opens with a personalized code in the Cesenatico Camping Village app. Just cross a street, and you’re already standing with your feet in the sand.

Cappuccino at the Beach Bar
We really liked the beach. We were impressed by the fine sand, the gently sloping water, and the many shells to collect. So it’s perfect for families with small children. There’s also a playground and, of course, showers and toilets. At the beach bar, I enjoyed getting a frappe or having a cappuccino while our daughter collected shells.

You can book sun loungers and umbrellas by the day or for your entire vacation. Sometimes you can find great offers on the campsite's website where the beach loungers are included in the price.

Right at the beach, there are also activities for children and adults. It’s worth checking the campsite's app to familiarize yourself with the daily program. Many activities are shared between Cesenatico Camping Village and the neighboring campsite Pineta sul Mare.

For more variety than the beach, there’s a great pool area at the campsite. Especially for families, it’s an ideal place to relax and have fun together.
