Luna Möbius: Discovering Life and Style in Berlin

In a recent conversation, we caught up with Luna Möbius in Prenzlauer Berg, a vibrant neighborhood in Berlin. "I haven't lived here long and I'm discovering the city anew – and how beautiful is Berlin?! But to be honest, I do miss Halle a bit," she shared, reflecting on her transition to a new city.

Luna is a content creator who also advises politicians on their social media strategies, including notable figures like Ricarda Lang and Nyke Slawik. She expressed her enthusiasm about the increasing number of representatives who are taking their social media responsibilities seriously. "On my account, I talk a lot about East Germany, democracy, and social issues," she added.

What brings you happiness these days? For Luna, the arrival of spring is a source of joy. "It’s warm but not too hot, and sunshine always lifts my mood. Spending time outdoors with friends and going for walks – life can actually be good. Politically, I’m happy to see the courage and energy I’m noticing more and more. The Bundestag election campaign was tough, and I’m excited that more people want to get involved."

What frustrates you currently? Luna expressed her concerns about the upcoming state elections in Saxony-Anhalt in 2026, particularly the potential for a troubling outcome. "For the first time, the AfD has a realistic chance of forming a government in a federal state, and nobody is talking about how disastrous that could be. People will be surprised in the fall, and I don’t understand it."

Where do you feel most at home? "At home," Luna replied. "I have a fantastic shared apartment, the best room in the world, and I look forward to sleeping in my own bed amidst all my appointments and time spent on public transport."

What are your favorite spots in your city? In Berlin, she enjoys spending time at Tempelhofer Feld. However, having lived in Halle for the past few years, she fondly remembers Ziegelwiese by the Saale River and the area around Thüringer Bahnhof.

Do you have any recommendations for parents in your city? Luna mentioned her friend Marie's suggestion for Halle: the Peißnitzhaus, which is accessible, affordable, and located in a car-free environment on Peißnitz Island. "Without kids, it’s also a great place to relax."

How would you describe your style? Luna views her style as a journey of self-discovery. "Being transgender is challenging, and sometimes I fluctuate between very feminine and more reserved styles. But I find myself more each day."

Why is fashion important to you? "Fashion creates spaces, occupies them, and opens them up. It’s a crucial part of feeling comfortable in my body."

What would you save for over the next ten years? Luna admitted that saving isn't her strong suit. "During the pandemic, I was in the middle of my training at a travel agency, which wasn’t the best situation for financial security. Right now, I’m saving for my vacation at the end of the year. Political activism takes a lot of time, energy, and money. Instead of saving long-term, I prefer to enjoy life in the moment."

Which piece of clothing from your parents has influenced you? "I borrowed a denim jacket from my father when I was 16, and it’s been in my closet ever since. The idea that he bought it in the 80s and wore it in East Germany, along with the memories and experiences it holds for him, deeply touches me."

Is there a childhood clothing item you wish you still had? "The Pokémon shirt – it was really cool."

What was your latest clothing purchase? "New sneakers, as my old ones were completely worn out..."

What do you wear on a daily basis? "Sneakers, black trousers, a blouse, and a blazer. I also wear the necklace that my friends Lara, Marie, and Katja gave me for my name change at the beginning of the year."

What are you wearing today?

Luna described her outfit: "The black blouse was a Christmas gift from my friend Shania. She bought it, and I had to have it too. The blazer is a staple; I wear it almost daily. My boots are from ASOS, and thankfully they have stylish options in size 43. I love them, and they have supported me through stressful winter days, giving me a great sense of body confidence. The trousers were an online find, and they’re so comfortable that I’ve worn them almost daily for nearly two years – they go with everything."

"My earrings are from Rossmann, and I adore them. The necklace, gifted by my friends in Halle for my name change, is something I wear almost every day. I find name necklaces a bit cringy sometimes, but in this Fraktur script – I love it! My sunglasses are from Meller; the orange-tinted lenses brighten everything up."
